Description

Renowned author, speaker and small business expert Barbara Wold will bring her knowledge and insights to Carson Valley at two seminars on September 13, 2012. The session, ‘How to Profit from Wal-Mart’s Arrival’ will be presented at 9A and then again at 1P at the Carson Valley Inn. Each two and half hour session will focus on how small businesses can do what Wal-Mart cannot -- by providing an exceptional experience and products that will bring in new customers, keep them coming back and encourage them to become goodwill ambassadors for your business.
Attendees will walk away from the session reinvigorated and with a set of clear steps they can take to not just survive the arrival of Wal-Mart in Gardnerville, but increase their business by capturing a percentage of the new consumers that the store’s opening will generate. “One thing we know is that when Wal-Mart opens a location, they expect to reach a large number of new customers”, said Chamber Executive Director Bill Chernock, “and while the information will help small retailers grow from the current customer base, this program is also about the kind of actions small business needs to take to get and keep the new customers.”
