Description
RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR VISTA GRANDE ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
When:
Monday October 12, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 am the Indian Hills GID (General Improvement District) Trustees, along with the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and staff will host a Grand Re-opening and ribbon-cutting for the completion of Vista Grande Boulevard Enhancement Project. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
The project is a significant improvement to Indian Hills and includes the following:
• A new 36 foot wide asphalt surface from Amador to Mica drive
• A roadway in both directions from Amador to Mica drive
• New bike lanes making the area safer for pedestrians and bicyclists
• ADA compliant ramps at all corners, curbs, gutters, sidewalks
• New trees and shrubs
Background:
Douglas County Redevelopment Agency (RDA) funds paid for the enhancements. RDA funds must be used to benefit the specific area from which they are collected and meet certain findings that are consistent with the adopted RDA plan and Nevada law. This portion of Vista Grande will remain owned by Douglas County and maintained by Indian Hills GID.
The ribbon cutting will include speakers from the Indian Hills GID, Douglas County Commission, and Staff. Light refreshments and photo opportunities will follow the ceremony. For more information please call (775) 267-2805 Ext. 21.
